Technion Australia hosted the first Einstein Supper for the year in Melbourne with Distinguished Professor Moti Segev and Ambassador Dr Reda Mansour.

Last month in Melbourne, on Wednesday 18 February, Technion Australia welcomed guests to another thought-provoking evening in our Einstein Supper Series — a program inspired by Albert Einstein’s belief in questioning assumptions and exploring how science shapes the future.
Over light supper and wine, guests gathered for a fascinating conversation on “Technology, Technion and the Future of Israel.”
Distinguished physicist Moti Segev shared insights from the cutting edge of science and innovation. A pioneer in photonics, Prof. Segev offered a glimpse into how breakthroughs emerging from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology are shaping the technologies that will define the decades ahead.
Joining him in conversation was diplomat and policy leader Reda Mansour, who brought a powerful geopolitical perspective to the discussion. Drawing on his experience as an ambassador and public servant, Dr. Mansour reflected on Israel’s place in the world today — and how diplomacy, regional dynamics, and global partnerships intersect with technological leadership.
Together, they offered something rare: a conversation that moved seamlessly between science, diplomacy, and the broader forces shaping Israel and the Middle East. Rather than headlines or commentary, guests heard directly from two individuals who have spent their careers advancing both scientific discovery and international engagement.
The discussion sparked thoughtful questions and lively exchanges around the room — exactly the kind of curiosity and dialogue the Einstein Supper Series was created to inspire.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for this special evening in Melbourne. We look forward to welcoming you to our next Einstein Supper soon.
