Why this matters

More medical data. More possibilities.
One critical missing link.

Hospitals generate vast amounts of medical information. Yet turning that information into reliable tools that improve treatment is far from straightforward. Researchers need secure data, multidisciplinary teams, and ways to develop and test AI solutions in clinical environments.

Connect the data

Build secure infrastructure to collect, prepare and validate diverse medical data while respecting privacy and ethical requirements.

Bring experts together

Create a physical home for researchers, clinicians, engineers and students to collaborate around real patient needs.

Test in the real world

Support the technical and regulatory work needed to pilot promising AI systems within Rambam’s medical units.

The vision

From research to the bedside.

The Australia Lab is the proposed Australian-named AI and Medicine Laboratory within the Andrea and Lawrence Wolfe Center for Translational Medicine and Engineering, a Technion–Rambam collaboration.

The laboratory will house TERA, the Technion–Rambam Initiative in Medical AI, designed to close the loop between patient-derived data, new insights and improved patient care.

  • Dedicated space for scientists and clinician-researchers
  • Secure infrastructure and specialist data support
  • Collaboration and training opportunities for research students
  • Clinical pathways to evaluate emerging AI approaches

A powerful partnership

Two institutions. A shared commitment to patients.

Located at Rambam Health Care Campus, neighbouring the Technion’s Ruth and Bruce Rappaport Faculty of Medicine, the Wolfe Center is designed to connect scientific and engineering research with real clinical challenges.

The wider Center is planned to include six specialised yet integrated laboratories. The Australia Lab campaign focuses on its AI and Medicine Laboratory.

What the AUD $3.1 million enables: The project proposal states that a $3.1 million laboratory naming gift supports laboratory construction and infrastructure. The Australian campaign target is AUD $3.1 million, subject to final agreement on funding and currency terms.

Questions about giving

Everything you need to know.

What is The Australia Lab?

It is the planned Australian-named AI and Medicine Laboratory within the Andrea and Lawrence Wolfe Center for Translational Medicine and Engineering. It is intended to house TERA, the Technion–Rambam Initiative in Medical AI.

What will the AUD $3.1 million campaign support?

The laboratory naming opportunity described in the proposal supports construction and infrastructure. Detailed campaign allocations and the currency terms of the final commitment will need to be confirmed before public launch.

Are donations tax deductible in Australia?

Technion Australia's proposal states that Technion Australia and its associated funds have DGR-1 status. The existing Health Promotion fund describes donations as tax deductible. Please seek professional advice on your circumstances and confirm the designation of your gift with the team.

How do I make a gift over AUD $500 or discuss naming opportunities?

Please do not use the online donation form for amounts greater than AUD $500 because of processing fees. Contact Yoash Dvir, CEO, at yoash.dvir@austechnion.com to discuss a direct donation, naming opportunity or multi-year gift.

Is the laboratory already operating?

The supplied proposal describes the planned Center and its future facilities. This page does not claim that construction or clinical operations have been completed.
